Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment (also known as endodontic therapy, endodontic treatment, or root canal therapy) is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which is intended to result in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.
A root canal infection is one of the most severe oral conditions of the mouth. Its effect can be so devastating that if left untreated for a considerably long time, it could lead to jawbone deterioration and tooth loss.
Periradicular Surgery
In endodontics, periradicular surgery is surgery of the outer root surface. Periradicular surgery include apicoectomy, root resection, repair of root resorption or perforation defects, removal of broken tooth fragments or filling material, and exploratory surgery to look for root fractures. The stages of periradicular surgery are:
- Local anaesthesia
- Flap design
- Bone removal
- Curettage
- Apicectomy etc
Pulp Capping
Pulp capping is a technique used in dental restorations to prevent the dental pulp from necrosis, after being exposed, or nearly exposed during a cavity preparation, from a traumatic injury, or by a deep cavity that reaches the center of the tooth causing the pulp to die.
Pulptomy
Pulpotomy is a minimally invasive procedure performed in children on a primary tooth with extensive caries but without evidence of root pathology. The minimally invasive endodontic techniques of vital pulp therapy are based on improved understanding of the capacity of pulp tissues to heal & regenerate plus the availability of advanced endodontic materials.
Pulpal Regeneration
Regenerative endodontic / Pulpal Regeneration procedures are defined as biologically based procedures designed to replace damaged structures such as dentin, root structures, and cells of the pulp-dentin complex. Pulpal Regeneration is a new treatment modality that aims to promote the normal function of the pulp. It has become an alternative to heal apical periodontitis. Regenerative / Pulpal endodontics is the extension of root canal therapy.
Apicoectomy
An apicoectomy is a dental surgical procedure through which the apex of a root is resected, and a root-end filling is placed, preventing bacterial leakage into the root canal system from the periradicular tissues. A microsurgical technique is used to carry out apicectomy, which improves post-operative healing.
Your Dream. Our Mission.
We Believe In Hard Work And Dedication
Endodontic instruments are used within the tooth pulp chamber and root canal systems. An understanding of the armamentarium of endodontic instrumentation is necessary for the selection of, and proper use of, these instruments.
Endodontic procedures are a common, but specialized procedure performed in many general dentistry practices as well as practices that specialize in just endodontics. These procedures treat patients with problems at the roots of their teeth and require a range of instruments specifically designed for each phase of a root canal procedure.
These instruments are designed to make root canals more comfortable and efficient for both the clinician and the patient.
While endodontic files are broaches, are used for most of the shaping of canals, a range of additional endodontic instruments are useful during root canals.
